About the Job
Key Responsibilities:
  • Comply with the companies Health, Safety and Environment policies in compliance with the legal requirements, site safety plan, site rules and arrangements.
  • Comply with the companies Health, Safety and Environment policies in compliance with the legal requirements.
  • In conjunction with JCK management, ensure that site Health and Safety is a priority on all project sites and that adequate steps are taken to facilitate a safe working environment for JCK operatives. Carry out audits of the respective sites, in line with the Company audit schedule. 
  • Comply with Site Safety Plan, Site Rules and arrangements.
  • Utilise knowledge/working background in all matters of site installation.
  • Take instruction from assigned Mechanical Supervisors and Electrical Supervisors for the purpose of completing projects and work orders efficiently.
  • Install mechanical and electrical systems and their components to the customer requirements.
  • Report damage to equipment, and tools for the purpose of ensuring availability in a safe operating condition.
  • Attend toolbox talk, safety stand down and other safety related meetings on site.
  • Respond to emergency situations during and after hours for the purpose of ensuring the availability of materials required at the job site.
  • Read blueprints, layout and prepare equipment for installation.
  • Engage in problem solving where appropriate regarding site activities.
  • Use measuring instruments to ensure parts conform to specifications on drawings.
  • Examine structures and equipment for deterioration, defects or non-compliance with specifications.

Responsibilities:
  • Layouts and prepare equipment for installation, mechanically and electrically.
  • Assist with job prep - which includes unloading trailers, organizing laydown, staging materials, and prepping beds.
  • Installs material handling (conveyor) systems – this includes setting legs, setting conveyor units, and bolting conveyors where appropriate.
  • Assists in detailing – which includes installing side rails and belly pans.
  • Assist tradespeople with electrical and mechanical installations.

  • The nature of the job involves working closely with JCK site management regarding all matters in connection with project sites
  • Enhance Organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishment

Job Requirements:
  • Experience in conveyors (required).
  • Fork Lift Driver preferred.
  • Experience in logistics (required).
  • Knows how to read prints.
  • Knows how to do layout.
  • Experience in placing equipment in center line.
  • Lifts heavy weights.
  • Strong mechanical tools knowledge.
  • Line and level conveyors.
  • Experience in using lifting equipment.
  • Experience in working at heights.
  • Experience in installing air piping preferred (knowledge and ability to sweat copper pipe, etc.) is a plus.
  • Experience lacing conveyor belts a plus.
  • Sorters experience.
